108 ft long Hanuman Statue situated at Jackhu Temple, Shimla, Himachal Pradesh
108 feet Hanuman ji Murti situated at Shimla's Highest peak. 2017
Hi here is my experience at Jackhu Temple. My plan wasn't to visit at this place as i was not aware about this ancient temple. Jackhu temple is on top of the hill on that 108 feet Statue so there no doubt it cant hide from someone so far. While passing thru saw this statue it was looking so small but the attraction was its hidden in mountains. This made me curious so i went ahead.
We were riding bike so travelling was bit difficult on hill, there are 2 routes to go on top one of it is narrow. People go by walking too. Climbing entire mountain is bit time consuming & in the month of December too cold climate to handle. We visited in the month of December 2017 at that time there was no snow fall in Shimla. 2 wheeler 4 wheeler parking is available on top of the hill near temple, people here are very helpful and guide you if you need.
Its really beautiful to look down from top of the Jackhu hill.
There are lots of monkey in the temple they dont hurt anyone but be careful about belongings also shoes. One of my friends shoe monkey took an ran away. I guess he was just teasing us.
Outside temple you may find some street sellers, After parking bikes entered big gate, there are few stairs to reach near statue. Left hand side is a statue and right side is a temple outside near statue in a open area you can wear shoes but when enter temple need to room footwear.
The time we reached aarti was going on i thought its inappropriate to disturb everyone and it was already to crowded so i didn't went inside. Here is the pic of temple.

The scenic view that surrounds this beautiful temple of India is absolutely breath taking and splendid.
It is said that a deadly arrow injured Lord Rama's brother Lakshmana when he was fighting the battle with the demon king Ravana. A priest diagnosed Lakshmana and said that he needed a particular Sanjeevani herb from the Himalayas to cure Lakshmana. Hanuman was sent to get that herb from he lofty mountains. Upon reaching the Himalayas, Hanuman couldn't make out as to which herb was the Sanjeevani. So he dug up the entire mountain and flew back to where Lakshmana was lying injured.
After Lakshmana was cured, Hanuman went back to place the mountain in its original site. He rested on top of the Jakhu hill for sometime. It is said that the top of the hill got flattened due to Hanuman's weight!
